🌿 Eriocaulon quinquangulare

Description:
Eriocaulon quinquangulare is a striking rosette plant known for its narrow, grass-like leaves radiating symmetrically from the center, forming a starburst appearance. Its structured, spiky look makes it an excellent focal point in high-end aquascapes. Due to its specific water and nutrient requirements, it is best suited for experienced aquarists maintaining stable, high-tech aquariums.

🌱 Tissue Culture / Planting Guide

  • Remove the plant carefully from the cup.

  • Rinse off the nutrient gel completely.

  • Separate gently if multiple plantlets are present.

  • Plant into a nutrient-rich aquarium substrate.

  • Do not bury the crown (center growing point).

  • Leave adequate spacing for full rosette expansion.

💧 Care Guide

  • Placement: Foreground / Midground (as a focal plant)

  • Light: High

  • Temperature: 22–28°C

  • pH: 5.5–6.8 (prefers slightly acidic water)

  • Water Hardness: Soft water preferred

  • CO₂: Highly recommended

  • Fertilizer: Root tabs + regular liquid fertilization essential

⚠️ Note:
This species is sensitive to unstable parameters and hard water. Sudden changes may cause decline. Best maintained in a stable, well-maintained aquarium with consistent CO₂ and nutrient supply for healthy, compact growth. 🌿
