🌿 Cryptocoryne spiralis 'Tiger'
Description:
Cryptocoryne spiralis ‘Tiger’ is an elegant, tall-growing Cryptocoryne variety known for its long, narrow leaves featuring distinctive striped or “tiger-like” patterns. The leaves range from green to brownish tones with subtle banding, adding height and texture to planted aquariums. Its upright growth makes it ideal for creating a natural background effect.
🌱 Tissue Culture / Planting Guide
Remove the plant carefully from the cup.
Rinse off the nutrient gel completely.
Separate into individual plantlets.
Plant into a nutrient-rich aquarium substrate.
Do not bury the crown (where leaves emerge).
Allow space for vertical leaf expansion.
💧 Care Guide
Placement: Midground / Background
Light: Low to Medium (Medium light enhances pattern visibility)
Temperature: 22–30°C
pH: 6.0–7.8
CO₂: Optional (recommended for stronger growth)
Fertilizer: Root tabs highly beneficial
⚠️ Note:
Like most Cryptocoryne species, initial “crypt melt” may occur after planting or water changes. Once adapted, it becomes hardy and produces long, attractive leaves. A stable environment and nutrient-rich substrate support healthy vertical growth. 🌿
