🌿 Cryptocoryne axelrodi
Description:
Cryptocoryne axelrodi is a beautiful and relatively rare Cryptocoryne species known for its elongated, slightly wavy leaves with green to bronze-brown tones. It grows in a compact rosette form and adds a natural, textured look to planted aquariums. This plant is hardy once established and suitable for both beginners and experienced aquascapers.
🌱 Tissue Culture / Planting Guide
Remove the plant carefully from the cup.
Rinse off the nutrient gel completely.
Separate into individual plantlets.
Plant into a nutrient-rich aquarium substrate.
Do not bury the crown (where the leaves emerge).
Leave slight space between plants for natural spreading.
💧 Care Guide
Placement: Foreground / Midground
Light: Low to Medium
Temperature: 22–28°C
pH: 6.0–7.5
CO₂: Optional (recommended for faster growth)
Fertilizer: Root tabs highly beneficial
⚠️ Note:
Initial “crypt melt” after planting is normal, especially when transitioning from tissue culture. Leaves may melt as the plant adapts, but new healthy growth will appear once established. Stable water parameters and a nutrient-rich substrate help maintain strong growth. 🌿
